Masks are no longer required to be worn in various public locations in the United Arab Emirates. The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority ordered on September 22 that people must keep a social distance of two meters. When exercising in public spaces, residents are not required to wear masks. When members of the same household go in their personal vehicles, masks are not required. It is also not required for those who visit a swimming pool or a beach.

Closed spaces where people are alone, salons and beauty centers, and medical centers are examples of places where the mask rule does not apply.

At locations where masks are not necessary, signs will appear. Masks are still required in all other public areas, according to the Ministry of Health and Prevention. The NCEMA stated, “Masks remain one of the most efficient weapons in battling the infection.” The decision was made after the number of daily Covid-19 instances dropped by 60% in August compared to the same month last year. The United Arab Emirates is also the world’s most vaccinated country, with over 92 percent of citizens receiving at least one shot and over 81 percent fully vaccinated.
